We Learned How to Save on Travel Around the Holidays!

We learned how to save on travel around the holidays. We want to share our personal tried and true methods with you!

There are many ways to save on travel and we have several things that we always do during the holiday season to help us save on actual travel as well as travel gear.

Flash Sales

Flash sales happen throughout the year, but are released more frequently during the holidays. Be sure to keep an eye on you favorite travel booking websites for these great pop-up deals. These special deals often offer substantial savings, especially if your travel dates are flexible.

Holiday Clearance

That’s right – holiday clearance sales. Stores are already beginning to clearance items that can be used for travel. We have already spotted luggage, toiletry sets (pour larger items into TSA approved containers), and even winter clothes! All of these can be used for travel. And, if you can get them at a discount, even better!

Gift Cards

Gift cards are a hot item at this time of year. There are a lot of discounts and “By a gift card, get a smaller one free” deals out there right now. Stock up on these! They can save you on flights, hotels, food, and entertainment. The possibilities are endless!

Loyalty Memberships

Hotel loyalty memberships can be a great way to save on lodging when you travel, especially if you travel a lot for business. Be sure to inquire about the loyalty program with the hotel chain you frequent most. Most of these programs allow you to earn points quickly, leading to things like upgrades, perks, and even free nights.

Big Box Stores

Big Box stores such as Costco and Sam’s Club are great places to purchase things like gift cards, clothing, toiletries, backpacks, and even gift cards for travel.
