If you’ll be hitting the theme parks during your next vacation, we’ve got some tips on how you can save money during your next theme park adventure.
As former Disney Cast Members, we have seen many families have their hopes and dreams crushed at the turnstiles when the “discount” tickets they purchased from an outside vendor would not work. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. People think they are getting a good deal, but in reality they are getting ripped off and losing a great deal of money.
Believe it or not, theme parks (even Disney) offer some discounted tickets. You just have to ask to see what is available. And remember, teachers get in free at some parks!
Getting a meal to go? Share it! Most theme park portions are HUGE. Split the meal with someone in your travel party.
Staying hydrated is so important, especially when you’re walking around a theme park in summer heat. Unfortunately, theme parks know this and their drinks are often pricey. It’s good to know that some theme parks care enough to offer free water. You can get free ice water from most quick service restaurants at Walt Disney World. Universal Orlando also offers free water. Just check the quick service counters or ask an employee at whatever theme park you are visiting and they should be able to tell you if free water is available.
One of the least expensive, and most fun, souvenirs you can purchase? Pressed pennies! These treasures are unique and can be found at most theme parks. They even make little albums to hold them. They don’t have to stay hidden away once you get home. There are lots of crafts that you can make with them.
Before you buy merchandise in the park, check to see if a nearby outlet center has an authentic store. Disney has an outlet in the Vineland Premium Outlets. It is run by Disney and carries the authentic park merchandise, most of which is heavily discounted. It is worth checking out the area surrounding the theme park you will be visiting.
Saving money at theme parks isn’t as hard as you’d think. If you are interested in more tips about Saving Money at Theme Parks be sure to check out our YouTube channel here.
