We learned how to save on school supplies and we want to share that info with you! These ideas are beneficial for teachers, admin, and parents. Let’s face it, saving money is beneficial for everyone. Let’s dive in!
Quality over quantity
When purchasing school supplies, it’s important to remember that you should choose quality over quantity. That does not mean buying the most expensive brand. Let’s clarify. The most expensive brand does not always equal the best quality product. In fact, some of the worst quality school supplies are often the cute expensive ones. Go with what you know works best. This will keep you from having to constantly replace inferior products.
Dress Code
Check the dress code at your child’s school and make sure their existing clothes as well as any new purchases comply. Be sure to keep up to date throughout the year. Changes can be made to the the dress code.
Buy shoes with growth in mind for kids and comfort for teachers
Shoes are one of the most important, and priciest, investments every school year. Parents, please make sure your child’s shoes are practical, comfortable, and allow a little room for growth.
Teachers, your shoes can make or break your day. We are on our feet all day in the classroom. It’s important to have shoes that feel good. This is one area we have learned to splurge a little. Good quality shoes can make all the difference.
Be sure to check stores like Ross, Marshall’s, TJ and Maxx. These stores often have high-end shoes at bargain prices.
Check the weekly Ads
Keep an eye on weekly ads beginning in late July. School supply deals will begin popping up and it’s best to grab things before the stores run out. Shopping the ads will give you the opportunity to get items at bargain prices. It also puts less strain on your budget because you aren’t purchasing everything at once.
Office supply stores
Many people don’t think of office supply stores when they are shopping for back to school deals, but they can have some really great deals.

And parents, thrift stores can be great resource for gently used school uniforms!
Going paperless
