Welcome to Broke Teachers Travel!

HI! We are Jeff and Marnie, two teachers who love to travel…on a budget of course. Because funds are limited, we’ve learned lots of tips, tricks, and hacks for traveling over the last thirty years. Now, we want to share these things with you!

Our travel experience is not limited to international destinations. We love a good road trip! Cross country drive anyone? Or, maybe a drive up the East Coast. Either way, domestic travel can be a relaxing way to vacation. And, we can tell you how to have fun and save money along the way!

We spent five summers as Disney Cast Members. It was the perfect summer job for teachers. And, needless to say, our kids were happy to spend their summers at Walt Disney World. Our time working in the parks allowed us to meet people from all around the globe. We learned about their lives, their cultures, and the places they were from. These amazing people fueled our desire to explore the world.

We have traveled as a family of four, led tour groups, and traveled as a couple. Along the way we have gained knowledge and insight into how to travel in different ways.

Some of the trips we have taken were led by fantastic tour guides, people who have shown us the world from a local’s point of view. And, some trips we explored completely on our own.

We look forward to building a community of budget-minded travelers who want to see the world.
