Broke Teachers Travel

Jeff

Hi! I’m Jeff. I have been a history teacher and coach for 27 years and a traveler all my life. My dad was in the military when I was young which meant seeing the world from a young age. I’ve traveled to various countries all over the globe.

Personally, I love to travel and bring knowledge and insight back to the students in my classes. History is everywhere and I make it my mission to explore as much as I possibly can.

My travels aren’t limited to international trips. I enjoy road trips across the U.S. as well. Some of the best memories I share with my family are from our roadtrip adventures, especially those to Walt Disney World. As a former Disney Cast Member (5 summers), I learned quickly that the Disney Parks were an amazing place to learn about other places and cultures. Getting to know, and building lifelong friendships with, Cast Members from around the world fueled my desire to explore the world even further. Traveling the globe in this way may seem like it would be an expensive venture. However, like I said, I’m a teacher. My budget does not allow for extravagant trips across the world. Through the years I have learned how to travel on a tight budget. Now, I want to share that knowledge with you!

Marnie

Hi! I’m Marnie. I worked as a paraprofessional for six years and have been a teacher for the last ten years. Travel has been a part of my life (mostly road trips and some international) since I was a young child.

I love the relaxing feeling of setting out on your own adventure and exploring local spots and national treasures along the way. Roadtrip memories are some of my favorite family memories, those to Walt Disney World especially.

As a former Disney Cast Member, the time we spent in the parks are some of the most precious memories I hold. I will never forget the first time I watched Wishes! nighttime spectacular. I sat holding both of my young children in my lap with Jeff’s arms around us. I cried like a baby. That memory will forever remain in my heart. The time in the parks also allowed me to meet friends from all over the world. These friendships are priceless. Not only did I learn about other cultures, I learned that I want to visit these places. However, like I mentioned, I am a teacher. The travel budget is very limited. However, through the years I have learned how to make travel more affordable. I want to help you do the same!

Now that our kids are grown and exploring the world on their own they share their knowledge and passion with others as well. They also know how to travel on a budget. They too will be contributing to our mission of helping people travel in an affordable way.
